The center of Mazama is the tasty/iconic Mazama Store and its baked goods for sure. It is a rural gathering spot, in the heart of some of the best recreational trails in the Northwest, with year round trails to hike, bike, run, ski, or fat tire bike. We feature a varied selection of licensed, legal nightly rental cabins to stay a couple of nights or a week or two. The Mazama-Winthrop corridor is scenic, and only a short 20 minute drive from Mazama to Winthrop, allowing for deer or turkeys crossing the highway.
The old west Winthrop boardwalk shops and eateries are charming, and a glimpse of the past. There is one 4 way stop sign in a 40 mile stretch in all directions…. and Winthrop features two charming walking suspension bridges to stroll across.
