Spring Creek Bridge
Located at the south end of downtown Winthrop, the cable-stayed Spring Creek Bridge is a fantastic place to watch salmon spawning in the crystal clear waters of the Methow River. Look for bald eagles in the trees lining the river.
On the north edge of downtown is another great suspension bridge over the Chewuch River to Sateekhwa Park. A hiking trail winds along the river with some great interpretative signage. It’s gorgeous along the river and through the woods.

National Fish Hatchery
Just ½ mile outside of Winthrop is the 42 acre hatchery that raises Spring Chinook, Steelhead and Coho salmon. Visitors can take a guided or self-guided tour of this incredible fishy facility. The Methow Valley is considered the birthplace of smokejumping. Developed in the 1930’s as a means to quickly reach forest fires by having firefighters “jump” from a plane. Located 4 miles south of Winthrop daily tours June-October. Stop in. ncsbsmokejumpers.com
Falls Creek Waterfall
Located 12 miles from Winthrop on the West Chewuch Road this ¼ mile paved hike takes you to the base of a stunning waterfall. The drive there is gorgeous and there are a variety of other hiking trails nearby. The waterfall should not be missed.
Pearrygin Lake State Park
4 miles NW of Winthrop, Pearrygin Lake is one of the most popular state parks in the state. There are great fishing, swimming and hiking opportunities for the whole family. parks.wa.gov/parks

The Methow Valley Farmers Market is in Twisp Saturday 9am - 12pm. Sunday catch the Winthrop Market from 10am - 2pm in the Winthrop Park. The markets not only sell great food but also have music, art and activities for all ages.
